Hog Crazy
Please understand that three different entities have some measure of control over the drainage ditch: Corp of Engineers, Fort Bend County Drainage District and Willow Fork Drainage District. It took your Board some time to sort this all out and to find out who is really in charge. After some back and forth, we have succeeded in getting a consensus. We will report to and get our permanent fence approved through the Willow Fork Drainage District (WFDD).
Our plan is to construct a temporary fence to fend off the hogs for the short term (this has been completed). We realize that we have cut-off joggers and walkers from using the drainage ditch area. If you will bear with us, we plan on installing a permanent, wrought iron fence (similar in design to the fencing currently in place in the park areas). The fence will have a 14 foot, locked gate to allow access for mowing equipment and a 3 foot pedestrian, self closing fence for joggers and others who want to use this area.
The next WFDD Board meeting is December 9, 2010. At this meeting the permanent fence will be discussed and hopefully approved. Your HOA President will attend the meeting as your representative. If you want to come you are welcome to do so. Following the meeting your Board will issue a statement to the community as to the findings of the WFDD Board regarding the installation of the Permanent Fence.
